Every grade is earned against the Standard

The bar is published, the evidence is recorded, and the full report shows on the tire's listing. Unsafe tires are rejected outright and never listed.

1

Measured with a gauge

Tread depth in three grooves, wear spread, and the DOT date code. Grade A starts at 8/32"; under 4/32" or over 10 years old is never listed.

2

Inspected inside and out

A 10-point checklist covering sidewalls, bead, interior liner, repairs and punctures, plus an automatic screen against NHTSA's tire recall list.

3

Graded with the evidence attached

Each graded tire gets its letter, and the listing carries the full report: photos, measurements, date code, and the inspection checklist.

4

Nothing hidden at grade C

A properly repaired or older tire can still be a good buy. It grades C with the reason disclosed right on the listing.

Rejected tires never go back on the road

A tire that fails an unsafe condition is logged with the reason and permanently blocked from listing here, for every tire we inspect.
